HISTORY

Arraial's history is almost as ancient than Brazil's discovery. In 1549 was built a church and quite near have emerged a water source. It was immediately considered miraculous and attracted pilgrims to the village. Yet today the water still flows but the pilgrims were replaced by tourists. Come to be one of them and fall in love!

ART

Point of convergence to artists and intellectuals, Arraial is proud to be an art and cultural center. Paintings, sculptures, graffiti, photography, music, ceramist, special performances and much more. Every year it happens a exhibition with local artists works. It's called Cultura Mix, with an international repercussion. Here the popular and classical art live together.

BEACHES

That's a special chapter. We wish we could tell in words how the beaches are! Crowded ones and almost desert others, romantic, calm water or wave beaches, all fantastic and unforgettable. Beach bars serving cold beer, refreshing drinks and a fish barbecue that you wont forget!

NIGHT

The night in Arraial d'Ajuda is kind of magical! When the sun goes down the disputed beach parties begins illuminated by torches. Contagious music fills yhe night until the new sun arise. A countless number of bars filled with beautiful people walking the streets shopping local handcrafted products and a huge variety of restaurants.
